Ryan Turns 4

Ryan enjoyed a great day at school on his birthday followed by his favorite dinner, presents, and cake at home. The real fun was the day of his Zombie Party, I thank everyone for getting into the zombie spirit and truly making his birthday wishes come true. When I asked him what his favorite part of his party was, he responded "everyone being dressed up." Thanks again for helping this become a party to remember. Please enjoy all the pictures from the party in the slideshow in the margin.

Hike at the Plainsboro Preserve

Jen, Ryan, and I took advantage of some nice weather and hiked 1.7 miles through the woods and had a picnic lunch. Ryan stood out over the water on a pipe, thought he saw zombies in the woods, but was annoyed when his shoes got muddy...

Visit from the DiPalma's

Drew, Erika, and the boys (including the newest member of the family Anthony) all came to visit on one of the last days warm enough to enjoy the splash park. After the splash park, playground, and backyard, we all enjoyed a bbq followed by marshmallows around the fire pit.

Bald Faced Hornet Nest

Here are some pictures of the bald faced hornet nest that overhangs our driveway about 15' high. It has grown in size quite rapidly, but thankfully it is high enough so they don't bother us and we have been co existing. It is in our neighbors tree and he is in the process of taking care of it.

Walking With The Dinosaurs

Vanessa, Uncle Bry, Ryan, and myself went to AC to see walking with the dinosaurs in Boardwalk Hall. It was a really cool show, reminded me of Jurassic Park. I also added some pics of the beach before the show.

WEEKEY BEATS THE ODDS!

Aunt Stef gave Ryan a caterpillar last week, Weekey (named by Ryan) barely survived the ride home in the pickle jar, then after hanging in his cocoon for just one day he fell to the bottom of the container. Luckily Tracey helped find us Weekey 2 (named by Ryan) and Weekey 1 was not given much thought.

Well, wouldn't you know to our surprise today Ryan came running in to Jen announcing Weekey was a butterfly! Weekey did indeed make his metamorphisis, and Ryan couldn't be happier.

1,500 LADYBUGS!

Grandma and Grandpa gave Ryan the best gift ever! 1,500 live ladybugs to play with...

Ryan had a blast spreading them all around the front and backyard, at one point he had a dozen crawling on him at once and he loved it.

NEW RETAINING WALL

With a lot of help from Craig, we were able to install a new retaining wall. I have included some before and after photos. Thanks again to Craig (and Tracey for keeping Ryan busy) for all the help. When are you guys free for the next project?

SNOW DAY!

On Monday we received around 10" of snow and Ryan had school canceled. I stayed home with him and Jen joined us after a brief work day and we went snow tubing at Thompson Park. Ryan had a great time and it wasn't long before he was going down the hill by himself. As you can see from the attached video, he really enjoyed making snow angels too.
